Model: NIKON D80
Shutter Speed: 10/10000 second
F Number: F/5.6

hmm.. personally I'd increase the F stop to around 12 for this picture, just to bump up the sharpness a bit.

Good picture, by the way ^^ very nice capture, a bit centered though but then again, you don't get to many options taking these kind of shot ^^

I live in Thailand, BTW, where did you take this? :D

The parrot is a bit too centered for me, as somene else alraeyd mentioned it could have been better if you had put it a bit more to the left, while not getting the left tree on the image.

Ah, okay. Well, generally I never stop watching people, only if I notice a big lack of quality of many of their images in a very long period, so that I can be sure that I won't miss anything, but that nearly never happens. ;)

How long do you leave them in the oven for?

People usually keep them until they turn dark or brown... But I, my dear friend, tend to keep em forever... :)

Huh? How is that relevant? I hope I did not ruin your moment there... But am not the type that starts any sort of negative act left alone FIRE...

I am not sure... If its a joke or an insult... :S

Clarify please...

Haha, sorry, I was making a reference to cooking friends, and how long you leave them in the oven, and your response was that you keep them forever, so I played on that pretending you kept them in the oven forever ;)

Not insulting you at all, sorry if it came across that way

Was just trying to make a joke, sorry it came across the wrong way, totally my fault.

Dale.

Okay, you asked for constructive criticism so please don't take anyhting personally. You're off to a good start but overall the shot is booring. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but you need to really work on your composition. The centering of the bird doesn't work for me. Your depth of field is nice. It helps to distract from the background as well as the second bird. Unfortuneately, the second bird is still a distraction for me. It's not really doing anything to help your composition here. He's just kind of growing out his friend's back. If I were you I'd try to get myself closer (or use a longer lens), close in on your subject, and work on the rule of thirds. For this particular shot, even a simple recrop would be beneficial. Overall you're off to a good start. How long have you been working on your photography?

P.S. I like the tree. It helps frame the shot and give us something to look at besides the bird.

Dude!! Take it easy on me!! You will pay for this!!

heheh... just kidding... you really have no idea how much I appreciate this... Really...

I have been working for the equivilent of 2 months... I know I am not much of a photographer but I would love to be... and I am trying to be... So I decided not to let you get away with only a comment... I really hope that you would help me improve my photography... And I also hope that you will comment often and be as harsh as possible...

I promis you that I will try to fix what I see is off in the shot... After words I will note you so that you tell me your openion of the modifications that took place...

I really appreciate the comment... I mean a comment like this is time consuming and if it shows any thing... It shows that you care... Thank you one more time...

This picture has gorgeous colours and subjects, but the composition and focus are off.
Maybe crop out that tree on the left, zoom in and focus it better?

Yes! I really do love that picture! You're welcome :)

Yeah, I'm still here, just been really busy with my education. Just finished my Master's degree in Computer Science and am currently working on my PhD in Biometrics/Artificial Intelligence. It's exciting, but obviously eats up a lot of my time. I would love to spend more time here on dA but I guess other things take priority :) However I still love and enjoy taking pictures and viewing other people's deviations... nothing can take me away from my love of photography and art! :)

 Hope you are doing well, too.

It's a good shot...I think I might have cropped out the tree on the left, it's a tad disctracting.. hold your hand over that part and youll see how the birds jump out more ..good to have you back
